About the Role

This fixed-term, part-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting young people in achieving their employment and education goals. As a Youth Employment Specialist, you will work collaboratively with young people to develop tailored support plans, conduct assessments, and provide mentorship to help them overcome obstacles and achieve long-term success.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing strong relationships with young people and conducting thorough assessments to identify barriers to employment.

  • Creating and implementing individualized job plans to address participants' vocational and non-vocational needs.

  • Providing ongoing support and mentorship to help young people achieve their employment and education goals.

  • Working closely with Centrelink, Jobactive providers, and relevant youth agencies to ensure seamless transitions for participants.

  • Developing knowledge of local employment trends and establishing connections with businesses to promote job placement opportunities.

  • Ensuring accurate and efficient completion of administrative tasks, including recording participant information on Federal Government and internal systems.

Requirements for Success:

  • Experience in youth services or case management, with a focus on supporting vulnerable populations.

  • Tertiary qualifications in youth, employment services, or related fields are highly valued.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • A current Driver's License and flexibility to travel across the region as required.
