We are seeking a skilled Behavioural Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Behavioural Specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
About You- You're passionate about creating freedom and social connection for people with disabilities.
- You value mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration.
- You possess tertiary qualifications and/or experience in fields such as psychology, ABA, speech therapy, occupational therapy, counselling, criminology, disability, education, mental health, music therapy, psychotherapy, special education, social work, or related disciplines.
- Meet with NDIS participants to gain an empathetic understanding of their goals, wants, and needs.
- Collaborate with their support teams including families, schools, medical and allied health providers, accommodation providers, and support workers.
- Gather data through assessments, observations, and interviews.
- Develop and implement behaviour support plans, providing training and coaching to NDIS participants and those important to them.
- Choose your clients; we support participants of all ages, with diverse disabilities and needs.
- Elevate your skills with regular training covering positive behaviour support, human rights, trauma, restrictive practices, safety, telePBS, functions, and formulations.
- Enhance your clinical practice through weekly one-on-ones with your mentor, optional peer supervision sessions, fortnightly live training sessions, and self-paced online learning.
- Receive professional guidance as you meet the registration requirements as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
- As a contractor, you'll have the flexibility to work from home at times that suit you.
- Support clients in-person and/or through telepractice.
No day is ever the same. One morning you could be out on the road delivering support with clients, and in the afternoon conducting observations at their day program, group home, or school. Another day might involve working from home providing support by videoconference, developing Behaviour Support Plans, and completing clinical notes.
