Job Details

The Australian Federal Police seeks to fill a Senior Project Manager position to oversee the delivery of major infrastructure projects and programs. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end project delivery, managing risk, scope, time, cost, and quality, and contributing to strategic thinking.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering capital works projects and programs, as well as experience in leading project teams and developing team member technical capability. They will also possess strong stakeholder engagement, management, and negotiation skills.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with project delivery, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and clients.
  • Provide expert advice on Commonwealth procurement and delivery methodologies to senior leadership.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and business cases, aligning with the AFP's organizational goals.
Essential Requirements
  • Australian citizenship at the time of application.
  • Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Commonwealth procurement policies and legislation, including construction procurement.
  • Proven experience in delivering major capital works projects and programs.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience in leading high-performing teams.
