Academic Mentor and Welfare Coordinator

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Student Wellbeing and Support Officer. This role plays a crucial part in fostering the social-emotional development and academic success of our students.
The Role:
- Elevate student wellbeing, resilience, and pro-social behaviors through tailored interventions.
- Enhance learning outcomes by establishing support networks with staff, families, and community agencies.
- Assist staff in identifying and addressing student needs, particularly for those requiring additional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social-Emotional Development: Provide guidance and support to students on developing healthy relationships, coping mechanisms, and self-awareness.
- Learning Support: Collaborate with teachers and support staff to identify students who may benefit from additional support and develop strategies to enhance their learning outcomes.
- Staff Support: Offer training and resources to teachers on recognizing and responding to student needs, promoting a culture of empathy and understanding.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals or small groups of students who are at risk.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to establish relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
