Job Title: Community Capacity Building Officer

Georges River Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Capacity Building Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of projects and activities that support and strengthen the Georges River community, fostering greater connection and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement community capacity-building events, projects, and programs that promote community engagement and social cohesion.
  • Collaborate with community groups, stakeholders, and Council staff to identify and address community needs and priorities.
  • Design and deliver training and capacity-building programs for community members and Council staff.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform community capacity-building initiatives and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to build partnerships and collaborations.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Proven experience in community capacity building, project management, and community engagement.
  • Excellent research, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of community development principles and practices.
