Fire Safety Officer Role

The primary responsibility of a Fire Safety Officer is to work in a team environment to deliver high-quality service to the community, ensuring life, property, and the environment are safeguarded.

About the Position:

  • Conducting fire safety inspections and responding to emergency incidents such as fires, motor vehicle accidents, or chemical hazards
  • Promoting fire prevention and education among school children, senior citizens, and local businesses
  • Collaborating with other emergency services including NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, and NSW Police

Fire Safety Officers are compensated for their attendance at incidents, training sessions, community safety, and education activities.

About You:

  • A team player who is community-focused, adaptable, reliable, and has availability across weekdays and/or weekends, including day and/or night work
  • Residing within a reasonable distance from the FRNSW Fire Station

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1)
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
