Working with our Commercial Team within our Defence Delivery line of business, you will be part of a dynamic environment that values collaboration and open communication. Your responsibilities will include managing end-to-end contract activities, providing specialist commercial advice, building stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the business's financial and commercial exposures are addressed through appropriate frameworks.

About you:

We are looking for a senior commercial officer with relevant experience and a good understanding of the role's responsibilities. You should have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to work independently with little supervision, and have a high level of computer literacy. Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Oracle is desirable.

Clearances:

A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, and your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end contract activities including negotiating contract changes, customer correspondence, and managing claims with minimal supervision
  • Provide specialist commercial advice to Project Managers and the wider business
  • Build and maintain both internal and external customer stakeholder relationships
  • Support all Contract and Bid Status Reviews
  • Draft moderately complex contracts/agreements with little supervision
  • Evaluate and address the business's financial and commercial exposures through appropriate commercial contract frameworks

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience as a Senior Commercial Officer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
