The role of a Payroll Manager is critical to the financial well-being of an organization. This position oversees the entire payroll process, from start to finish, ensuring that all aspects are timely, accurate and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Cycle Management: Manage the full payroll cycle across all entities, including monthly and ad-hoc payrolls.
  • Collaboration with External Providers: Collaborate with outsourced payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Employee Setup and Management: Ensure employees are set up correctly and promptly in the payroll system.
  • Payroll Calculations and Reconciliations: Manage payroll calculations and reconciliations, including salaries, wages, bonuses, allowances, terminations, redundancies, and leave entitlements.
  • Leave Accruals and Balances: Perform monthly leave reconciliations and ensure accurate leave accruals and balances.
  • Senior Management Share Plan: Manage senior management share plan dividend payments and coordinate preparation of annual statements.
  • Casual Hours Verification: Verify casual hours in consultation with segment managers.
  • Legislative Compliance: Interpret and apply relevant employment legislation, including payroll tax, superannuation, and PAYG withholding.
  • Statutory Payments and Reports: Process and submit required statutory payments and reports.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Maintain payroll compliance and internal controls.
  • Employee Enquiries: Act as a primary contact for employee payroll-related inquiries.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems, and policies.
  • System Upgrades and Implementation: Lead or support payroll system upgrades or implementation projects.
