Job Description

As a Unit Head, you will play a critical role in driving the formulation of strategies and objectives aligned with the institute's corporate goals. Your leadership skills will be instrumental in developing and promoting the business activity of the institute.

Under broad direction from the Group Head, your duties may include:

  • Providing leadership, direction, and performance management to staff in the Unit to ensure achievement of corporate objectives through effective management of physical, financial, technological information, and human resources.
  • Planning, initiating, and managing major complex projects and functions or managing the collection and analysis of data and the preparation of reports, publications, papers, and submissions.
  • Undertaking highly complex research and analysis associated with AIHW projects and the development and review of AIHW policies and procedures.
  • Preparing high-level reports, publications, papers, and submissions, and professionally reviewing and providing advice and guidance to authors of such documents.

You will work closely with stakeholders to identify data and analysis needs, gaps, and options for data development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess advanced leadership skills, expertise in their professional field, and experience in supervisory and managerial roles.

They will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with other areas of the institute, government agencies, and business or community organisations.
