We are seeking an ambitious researcher to collaborate on cutting-edge projects and advance a deeper understanding of metallurgy.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to research initiatives, develop new skills, and work with a dynamic team.
- Initiate and conduct research in physical metallurgy, focusing on characterization and modeling of alloys.
- Collaborate with industry partners and academia to apply findings in practice.
- Design cross-blend alloys for recycling and measure twinning stress in stainless steels and HEAs.
This role is suited to emerging researchers keen to explore and build on new areas, foster research and researcher development, and contribute to a dynamic and enthusiastic research team.
As a Metallurgy Researcher, you will:
- Conduct high-quality research, scholarship, and creative activities generating impactful outputs.
- Engage collaboratively to participate in novel and high-quality research or creative activities.
- Communicate outputs, including as part of a team.
- Ensure impact of academic activity on the field and community.
To be successful, you'll have:
- PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
- Emerging research and scholarship through publications and exhibitions.
- Ability to contribute to communities through research.
- Capacity to contribute to teaching, research, and administration.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish good working relationships.
