Research Associate Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and emerging researcher to fill a full-time fixed-term position as Research Associate in the Institute for Frontier Materials.

The successful candidate will initiate and conduct research in the area of physical metallurgy under the framework of an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellowship. The focus is on developing deeper metallurgical understanding via characterization and modelling to underpin the design of alloys with smaller societal footprints.

About the Role:
  • Conduct high-quality research, scholarship, and creative activities generating high-impact outputs
  • Engage collaboratively in novel and high-quality research or creative activities
  • Communicate research findings, including as part of a team
  • Ensure impact of academic activity on the field and community
  • Support applications for funding for research and creative activities
Requirements:
  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
  • Emerging research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research
  • Capacity to contribute to teaching, research, and administration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish good working relationships
  • Ability to contribute to community engagement
