High Voltage Design Leadership

This role represents a high-achieving position for an experienced individual to lead the design and construction of High Voltage projects, encompassing HV transmission lines, renewables, and substations.

A key aspect of this position is managing HV & LV design in substation, transmission line, solar systems, and BESS, as well as leading and coordinating all design activities across civil, electrical, mechanical, and SCADA disciplines.

The selected candidate will be responsible for liaising directly with internal and external design teams to ensure timely resolution of client design comments, managing drawing and document submissions via approved document management systems, maintaining and closing out the Design Comment Register, tracking and closing all RFIs and Design Change Requests on a weekly basis, coordinating red-line mark-ups and final as-built documentation, and working closely with the Construction Manager and Senior Project Engineer to ensure smooth integration between design and site execution.

In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to ensure compliance with Ventia's Principal Contractor requirements, including design audits, conduct quality and technical compliance reviews, and provide input into D&C.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in HV & LV design, particularly in substation, transmission line, solar systems, and BESS.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and coordinating design activities across multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaison with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using approved document management systems and software relevant to the role.
