Job Overview

The role of a Textile R&D Specialist is to drive innovation and development of raw materials for corporate clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing research and development strategies for fabrics, trims, and technological advancements
  • Providing technical support to various teams
  • Maintaining fabric standards and collaborating with stakeholders
  • Reviewing fabric test results and wear test samples
Key Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Setting up and maintaining Raw Material Matrix and Tracker
  • Collaborating with the Design Team for clear communication on R&D projects
  • Establishing and maintaining fabric and trim standards
  • Ensuring all raw materials have specifications in line with company guidelines
  • Signing off on colour and raw material performance test reports
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in textile, work wear, protective wear, and fashion industry preferred
  • At least 5 years' experience in R&D required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of textile technology and textile manufacturing with relevant qualification
  • Problem solving attributes
  • Knowledge of fibers, yarns, knitting, dyeing, print techniques, fabric properties, and garment finishing techniques
