About the Role

Challenge Community Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our Day Programs team in Muswellbrook. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives through engaging activities and community participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clients with disabilities in day programs and community participation
  • Develop skills through activities like cooking, music, crafts, sports, reading, and singing
  • Provide in-home support, requiring flexibility for afternoon and night shifts
Requirements
  • Australian Driver's Licence
  • First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one during onboarding
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Satisfactory Police Check
  • Flexibility to work in a daily care service
  • Competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook
  • Covid-19 Vaccination status, including booster
Desirable Criteria
  • Understanding of NDIA processes
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Handy craft skills (sewing, knitting, crocheting)
