About the Role:

The Senior Management Team at Ventia is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the Head of Operations position. This critical role will ensure that the contract operates in accordance with core legislation, maintaining a compliant business environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Management Team, deputising for the Contract Director, and deliver the courts operational solution across the SAPMICM contract.
  • Deliver oversight and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Train and develop staff, promoting resilience within the senior and middle management team.
  • Promote community engagement across the SAPMICM contract with respective bodies and organisations in South Australia.
  • Remain informed about best practice trends in service provision and innovative support practices aligned with Correctional Services.
  • Act as the focal point for liaison with the department of Correctional Services, CAA, DHS, and South Australian Police.
  • Assess client needs in complex situations, investigate options, and determine the most appropriate response within guidelines.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly, yearly, and essential contract management reports.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in a discipline related to business services functions or equivalent expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.
  • Proven experience operating in a commercial and strategic role.
  • Demonstrated management experience in an operational environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaborative management style, and ability to forge productive internal and external working relationships.
  • Personable and professional with the ability to remain objective, unbiased, and balanced in challenging environments.
  • Exceptional numerical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and advise non-finance personnel to achieve performance within budget.
  • Ability to prepare briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and correct language.
