About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ground Services Manager to lead our team at Townsville Airport. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional ground handling services to our airline customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Compliance: Drive and enforce safety and compliance standards in accordance with airline and company standard operating procedures.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with airport authority and airline customer stakeholders.
  • Workforce Management: Oversee the recruitment process and foster a just culture that promotes incident reporting and prevents threats to safety and compliance.
  • Performance and Resource Management: Manage staff performance, provide objective feedback, and guide and support employees.
  • Audits and Reporting: Oversee regular airline and company audits, present feedback and results to key stakeholders, and prepare safety and incident/accident investigations.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in ground handling services at an Australian airport.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in people management, with a strong ability to confidently and effectively manage people.

  • A thorough grasp of airline customer expectations regarding safety and compliance.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, maintain high standards, and pay meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Australian employee relations legislation.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities, empowering individuals and building effective teams.
  • Resilience in overcoming operational and workforce challenges.
  • Confidence in participating in the recruitment process and team building.
