We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at the Rydalmere Service Centre in Australia. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of large electrical rotating machinery, including high-speed rotating equipment such as steam and gas turbines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical repairs on LV, MV, and HV electrical rotating machinery.
  • Work on high-speed rotating equipment, especially steam and gas turbines.
  • Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical assemblies like shafts, gears, seals, impellers, fans, and bearing fits.
  • Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs on shafts, journals, and housings.
  • Requisition items from stores/purchasing, as approved by your Supervisor.
  • Clean electromechanical equipment assemblies using various methods.

Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate III Fitter & Turner or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical fitting large equipment such as motors, generators, pumps, fans, gearboxes, and turbines.
  • Forklift license.
  • Customer service focus with adaptability.
  • Strong time management skills.
