This program provides a comprehensive introduction to Anaesthetic and PACU nursing with structured rotations and study days, culminating in a final assessment.

The anaesthetic nurse plays a critical role in perioperative care, assisting the anaesthetist and contributing to patient safety throughout the perioperative area and into the PACU.

PACU nurses provide essential care for patients immediately following surgery, monitoring for potential complications and administering airway management, patient assessment, and pain/nausea treatment, while collaborating with Surgeons, Anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting perioperative care as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Assisting the anaesthetist and contributing to patient safety
  • Providing expert care for patients in the PACU
