Senior Product Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative professional to lead our hardware product design and engineering team.

The Role:

As a Senior Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of innovative hardware products from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Design Thinking to navigate the discovery and delivery process.
  • Utilize 2D and 3D CAD to communicate design intent and inspection requirements ensuring fit, form, and function throughout the life of the product (including tolerance analysis & DFMEA).
  • Work closely with a wider team on the design and development of mask hardware products, ensuring seamless integration of form and function.
  • Ideate, conduct feasibility studies, create prototypes, and perform rigorous testing to validate design concepts.
  • Utilize advanced CAD tools to develop detailed design specifications and technical drawings.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in detailed part and product design engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, NX) preferably experience with complex surfacing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal, ability to clearly communicate design ideas, contribute to brainstorms.
  • Experience designing components for high volume manufacturing is preferred - specifically injection molded parts, liquid silicone rubber, cast and machined parts.
