The Department of Communities WA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practice Development Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Community Services branch, you will play a critical role in promoting quality practice and continuous improvement in the delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and consultation to District Directors, Directors, Unit Managers, Team Leaders, and other Field staff on operational policy and practice matters, as well as complex casework practice issues.
  • Promote quality practice and continuous improvement in the delivery of services, ensuring that our programs and services are effective and efficient.
  • Contribute to the development of monitoring and reviewing frameworks, and support their operation to ensure that our services are meeting the needs of our clients.
  • Monitor, report, and make recommendations on the standard of Departmental practice, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Contribute to professional development and practice development by engaging in a range of learning strategies, including mentoring and coaching.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant human services area.
  • Overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in practice development, policy, and program management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
