Island Healthcare Professional

Our island community is seeking a dedicated and experienced healthcare professional to join our team as a Practice Nurse. This part-time role offers three days per week, providing an ideal balance between work and personal life.

As a Practice Nurse on Hamilton Island, you will play a vital role in delivering essential healthcare services to our patients. You will work closely with our doctors, collaborating on chronic disease management plans and wellness programs, while also providing hands-on patient care, health education, and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care, including wound management, immunisations, health checks, and preventive services
  • Collaborate with doctors on chronic disease management plans and wellness programs
  • Deliver health education and guidance to empower patients in managing their health
  • Engage with patients in a diverse role that fosters strong relationships in a close-knit community

Requirements:

  • Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • 2+ years of experience in general practice or a similar clinical setting
  • Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to connect with patients
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to patient care
  • Team spirit, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic island setting
