Animal Health Specialist

The role of Live Animal Veterinary Officer plays a pivotal part in maintaining Australia's biosecurity status and ensuring the export of quality live animals and reproductive material.
As a key member of the team, you will work collaboratively with diverse staff throughout Australia to achieve common goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies
- Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate digital and manual records
- Auditing and approving properties for animal export consignments
- Managing biosecurity risk associated with imported animals
- Performing veterinary health checks and sampling of imported animals
- Traveling to assist other regions with staff shortages or operational needs
- Contributing to continuous improvement and training material development
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A veterinary degree from an Australian university or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
- Registration with the relevant Australian state/territory veterinary board
- A valid Australian motor vehicle driver's license
- Ability to participate in an on-call roster and perform occasional out-of-hours and weekend work
