Job Description

Hinchinbrook Shire Council is seeking a skilled Construction Team Supervisor to lead our civil construction team in the Ingham region. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating teams, ensuring safe work practices, and implementing Works Operations and Construction programs.

About the Role

The Construction Team Supervisor will report to the Works Team Leader and provide day-to-day oversight of crews and jobs as delegated. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising crew members in the effective implementation of Works Operations and Construction programs;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant safe work procedures;
  • Undertaking general duties associated with leading a team in a civil construction environment;
  • Liaising with contractors and other stakeholders as required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A Certificate III in Civil Construction (Highly Desirable), or equivalent relevant experience sufficient to undertake the range of activities required;
  • A Heavy Rigid Vehicle Licence (Highly Desirable);
  • Experience in the operation of various types of mobile plant and equipment (Highly Regarded);
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and supervise teams, including contractor staff, in a maintenance and/or construction environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting construction documents and setting out of works;
  • Experience in construction activities including concrete, formwork, laying pipes/culverts, undertaking road construction and maintenance activities;
  • SOUND knowledge of WHS requirements in a maintenance/construction environment;
  • Construction Induction Card Mandatory.

Estimated Salary
