A Commis Chef Position

Job Description:

We are seeking a Full Time Commis Chef to join our working environment to provide high-quality customer service to guests at our Sydney International Lounges.

Our Commis Chefs provide service between a la carte and buffet environments. All our roles focus on exciting guests with flair and enthusiasm, demonstrating a genuine passion for customer service and the kitchen.

Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will form a key part of a team responsible for providing high-quality product to lounge passengers.

Key responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of ingredients, chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring food products. Executing cooking techniques and methods under senior chef guidance. This includes grilling, frying, baking, sautéing, and more. Follow established recipes and instructions for preparation and presentation of dishes. Assist in the assembly and plating of dishes, ensuring they meet established standards for portion size and presentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Trade qualification - Certificate IV in Cookery
  • Previous experience in hospitality, ideally luxury 5-star environments
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
