This position plays a crucial part in our friendly Facilities team. The successful candidate will work closely with a gardening assistant and be responsible for maintaining green spaces across the rail network.

The role involves comprehensive garden maintenance services including leaf and rubbish collection, mowing, weeding, spraying, mulching, pruning, planting, and watering.

A key responsibility of this position is managing tools and consumable stock levels to complete gardening schedules.

Additionally, the ideal candidate must follow safety protocols while working near train tracks and submit weekly reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Following a weekly gardening schedule, working with and supporting a gardening assistant.
  • Comprehensive garden maintenance services including leaf and rubbish collection, mowing, weeding, spraying, mulching, pruning, planting, and watering.
  • Managing tools and consumable stock levels to complete gardening schedules.
  • FOLLOWING SAFETY PROTOCOLS WHILE WORKING NEAR TRAIN TRACKS
  • Weekly reporting requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Cert III or IV in Horticulture or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in horticulture, gardening, and/or landscaping in parks, reserves, or large garden areas.
  • Experience in operating a range of mowers and small plant equipment.
  • Proven planning, scheduling, or time management skills.
  • BASIC IT SKILLS WITH PORTABLE DEVICES (IPAD) AND MICROSOFT OFFICE.
  • A current full Victorian driver's licence.
