Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of Council's parks, gardens, and landscaped areas. You will work in a team focused on delivering high-quality outcomes in accordance with service requirements and programs.

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining gardens, including annuals, native & non-native plants, high-profile areas, traffic facilities, and other landscaped areas. Additionally, you will provide recommendations for mulching, watering, maintenance, embellishment, and improvement; implement as required.

Duties
  • Maintain gardens according to service requirements, agreements, rosters, and programs.
  • Provide expertise in mulching, watering, maintenance, and improvement of gardens.
  • Develop skills and training for staff.
  • Evaluate risk and hazards in areas under your control and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Identify, report, and rectify landscape deficiencies, especially in gardens and landscape maintenance.
  • Offer assistance and advice to management, staff, customers, and the community when necessary.
  • Ensure all works are completed within timeframes.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Horticulture or a similar field.
  • Current Class C Driver's License.
  • Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in garden maintenance.
