Structural Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to lead and mentor our team of building inspectors. As a technical leader, you will bring expertise in engineering principles and compliance oversight to drive continuous improvement.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to develop a team of 15+ inspectors, conduct complex inspections, and deliver internal training programs.

  • Lead a high-performing team of engineers and inspectors, providing guidance on technical queries and disputes.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to drive service quality and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and improve QA systems, SOPs, and compliance documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a degree-qualified background in structural engineering, knowledge of NCC, WA Guide to Standards & Tolerances, and AS 4349, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

This role offers a hybrid environment combining field inspections, technical mentoring, and strategic leadership. You will have influence over systems, tools, and standards, and a clear pathway to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of structural engineers and inspectors.
  • Conduct or support complex inspections as needed.
  • Apply engineering principles to real-world inspection scenarios.
  • Deliver internal training and onboarding programs.
  • Own and improve QA systems, SOPs, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide internal guidance on technical queries, disputes, and high-stakes reports.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on continuous improvement and service quality.
Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified structural engineer (CPEng).
  • Knowledge of NCC, WA Guide to Standards & Tolerances, and AS 4349.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable guiding others, reviewing reports, and making clear technical calls.
  • Skilled communicator with a pragmatic approach.
