Job Title: After Hours Crisis Response / Triage Worker (Social Worker)

Job Overview:

The Yarrow Place Rape and Sexual Assault Service is seeking a skilled After Hours Crisis Response / Triage Worker (Social Worker) to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide face-to-face crisis advocacy and crisis intervention to individuals who have experienced recent sexual assault.
  • Work in partnership with on-call forensic doctors and nurses.
  • Offer telephone crisis advocacy and crisis intervention to those who have experienced recent sexual assault.
  • Contact and coordinate with other members of the Yarrow Place Daytime and after-hours service.
  • Provide referral information for individuals seeking to access counseling, support groups, legal assistance, or other help or information in relation to recent sexual assault.
  • Liaise with members of other agencies and statutory authorities to provide a daytime and after-hours sexual assault service.
  • Support new Crisis Response Workers on the after-hours panel.

Requirements:

  • Mature and self-directed, able to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a cohesive team culture.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide crisis counseling and support to individuals who have experienced a recent rape or sexual assault.
  • Proven ability to organize, coordinate, consult, liaise, and communicate effectively.
