Medical Unit Registered Nurse
\Mater Private Hospital Townsville are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our medical unit. The successful applicant will secure permanent part-time employment working either mornings, afternoons, or nights.
\It is a requirement that you are able to contribute to the rotating roster.
\The medical unit offers a variety of opportunities to care for patients with specialised care needs, including rehabilitation, oncology, hematology, and general medicine.
\Our team of nurses, doctors, and allied health staff work together to care for patients, carers, and family whilst they are at Mater hospital.
\As a registered nurse, you will report to the nurse unit manager and make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater.
\Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Utilising a structured approach, carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients.\
- Implementing planned evidence-based nursing interventions within scope of practice.\
- Acting as a patient advocate, ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures.\
- Contributing to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security, and personal integrity of individual patients and groups.\
- Maintaining and adhering to infection control policies and practices.\
- Complying with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions, and guidelines.\\
- Developing high-level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination, and time management.\
- Contributing effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment.\
- Demonstrating ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving.\
- Available to work across all shifts.\
- Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data.\\
