Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our field services team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who can oversee the delivery of infrastructure management plans and ensure operational excellence.

The role involves mentoring and guiding field teams, negotiating with stakeholders, and managing relationships to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement infrastructure management plans to ensure effective service delivery.

About the Role

This role is part of our Observing Operations Hubs, which are the Bureau of Meteorology's Technical Operations centres. Our staff travel extensively throughout Australia, utilising 4WDs, planes, boats, and helicopters to maintain service delivery within various instrumentation networks.

The role includes:

  • Rain Radars
  • Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)
  • Upper-Air monitoring systems (sounding balloons)
  • Sea Level Monitoring Stations
  • Wave and Wave height buoys
  • Satellite ground reception and space weather instruments
  • Flood warning/rainfall monitoring systems
  • Cooperative observers, volunteer rainfall stations
  • Communications, telemetry and instrumentation systems
