About the RoleThis is a leadership and technical role within the PDM Mine Planning team, responsible for designing and delivering the Peak Downs mine design. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mining engineering and experience working at an open cut coal mining operation.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver the Peak Downs mine design, including future planning and strategy for upcoming strips.
- Optimize the current mine plan and provide advanced guidance to the schedule.
- Lead mine planning improvement initiatives and build trusted relationships across departments.
- Tertiary qualification or extensive experience in mining engineering.
- 5+ years' experience in a combination of scheduling, haulage, drill & blast, truck stripping, dragline & dozers push design, or coal production planning.
- Advanced skills and knowledge in open cut mining, scheduling theory and concepts, product supply chain, operations and field management.
- Proficiency with a range of mine design and scheduling software packages, including SPRY, Vulcan, and Deswik CAD.
