Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapy Department

This is an exciting role within a dynamic occupational therapy department for the provision of clinical supervision, teaching and co-ordination of educational activities for students on clinical placements. The department takes on average 60 students per year and offers well-established programs for students' induction and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The incumbent will be responsible for the coordination of all undergraduate occupational therapy and allied health assistant placements and liaison with relevant universities and registered training organisations.
  • Direct supervision of occupational therapy students as well as providing support, resources and upskilling of staff who are supervising students.
  • Clinical caseload management including administrative tasks, participation in clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and service development.

This principal referral and teaching hospital provides an active education programme for medical practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals. Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated recent experience in clinical student supervision and/or staff supervision.
  • An understanding of adult learning styles and teaching methods.
  • Excellent organisational, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level clinical expertise and knowledge of a wide range of clinical conditions in Occupational Therapy.
  • Possession of an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
