Heavy Diesel Fitter Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our team in Mackay, Queensland. This is a brand-new project working directly with a well-recognised mining contractor.

This role presents a rare opportunity to be part of a fresh leadership team, with a major fleet rollout and long-term plans to make this one of their biggest operations.

  • Maintain and repair a range of heavy mining equipment, including CAT, Komatsu, and Hitachi
  • Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults, and carry out repairs
  • Perform routine servicing and breakdown maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly
  • Collaborate with the site team to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Assist with the mobilisation and setup of a large fleet of machinery
Requirements:
  • Qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter or Plant Mechanic with proven trade credentials
  • Skilled in working on major surface mining gear like CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, and Liebherr
  • Safety-driven with a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Reliable, motivated, and ready to contribute your best every day
