Technical Engineering Specialist

The Technical Engineering Specialist will be a crucial member of the Technical Engineering Unit, supporting technical engineering efforts across VHBA and public hospitals. This role will expose you to a wide range of technical engineering issues and provide valuable experience in building a career in engineering.

You will have the opportunity to develop and deliver projects or sub-projects, contributing to the full life cycle of projects that meet departmental objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in research, analysis, and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs;
  • Supporting the development and delivery of projects or sub-projects and their successful completion within resourcing, timeline, and budget parameters;
  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure departmental objectives are met and utilizing data to target investment in engineering infrastructure;
  • Overseeing, monitoring, or delivering projects, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines;

You will also be responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships across the department and the wider sector to build a partnership approach, including preparation of communication materials and agendas, organizing meetings, drafting meeting summaries, and facilitating follow-up action. Additionally, you will keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security, and privacy policies and requirements.
