About this role

We are seeking an experienced leader to spearhead the development and implementation of strategies for the future power system.

The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers in delivering key projects and collaborating with stakeholders to prepare for future system transition points.

  • Develop and maintain power system study capability, tools, models, and future state cases for technical investigations.
  • Lead projects aimed at assisting project proponents in evaluating the service contributions of their assets.
  • Deliver a program of planning studies in collaboration with System Security Planning teams and Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs).
  • Provide engineering expertise and advisory services to support reform development and implementation.

Key qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as engineering.
  • Deep expertise in the operation and planning of large power systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing teams that work in complex technical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, reporting, and delivery.
  • Well-developed analytical skills sufficient to review, critique and approve modelled outcomes.
