Clinical Nurse Educator Role

The Clinical Nurse Educator plays a vital role in delivering expert nursing education in critical care, enabling our team to provide high-quality patient care.

This position is responsible for planning and coordinating clinical teaching and education in critical care, supervising student rotations, and supporting the orientation of new staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and coordination of all aspects of clinical teaching and education in critical care
  • Contribution to the development of colleagues and identification of learning needs
  • Supervision of student rotations
  • Support for the orientation of new staff
  • Day-to-day clinical education support and clinical supervision at the point of care
  • One-on-one informal education
  • Support for skill development in clinical procedures, professional development, clinical policy development, and an in-service program for critical care
  • Implementation and evaluation of education programs

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications in Critical Care/Emergency Nursing
  • Extensive and recent emergency nursing experience with a commitment to education and training
  • Sound clinical teaching and communication skills through previous education program development and coordination
