As a senior qualified industrial electrician, you will play a pivotal role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and systems. This key position requires an individual with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for ensuring smooth operations.
- Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on industrial equipment and systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues with industrial machinery.
- Lead and mentor a team of junior electricians and apprentices, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Ensure all work complies with Australian safety standards and regulations, prioritizing employee well-being and asset protection.
- Read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and blueprints to drive informed decision-making.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement, promoting a proactive approach to quality and safety.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration and minimize downtime, demonstrating effective communication and teamwork.
- Manage project timelines, costs, and progress, providing regular updates and insights to stakeholders.
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent qualification.
- A-Grade Electrical Licence, demonstrating a high level of technical competence.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in industrial electrical work, showcasing expertise and adaptability.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and industrial automation, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Experience with PLCs and variable speed drives, preferred but not essential, highlighting flexibility and openness to learning.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team, balancing autonomy and collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective solutions.
- Ability to work safely under pressure and in varying conditions, prioritizing employee safety and well-being.
- Working / Liaising with builders and working through jobs autonomously, requiring strong organizational and time management skills.
- Working / Liaising with customers daily, developing effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Taking charge of apprentices to coach and develop, promoting knowledge transfer and succession planning.
- Be motivated and have an excellent work ethic, embodying a positive and proactive attitude.
- Be able to work additional / overtime hours as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.
- Be trade qualified and hold a current Electrical licence, verifying technical competence and compliance.
- Possess tools of the trade, ensuring readiness and preparedness for tasks.
- Applicants must have a current Construction White Card, confirming adherence to safety protocols.
- Drivers license (Manual required), facilitating travel and mobility.
