Winemaker Assistant Position

The role of an Assistant Winemaker involves overseeing the operations of a winery cellar, including cellar management, quality control, record keeping, wine analysis, equipment maintenance, grape sampling, and processing.

This position requires hands-on tasks and responsibility for assisting in all cellar operations, including fermentation management, wine vinification, barrel work, filtration, and bottling. Additionally, it involves developing and mentoring junior members of the team to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge.

A key aspect of this role is representing great brands at trade and consumer events. The successful candidate will be required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to lead and manage workflow effectively.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 5 years' experience in winemaking and winery/vineyard operations.
  • Oenology qualification or equivalent.
  • A strong focus on quality, cellar hygiene, and teamwork is essential for success in this role.
  • The ideal candidate will be physically capable and able to manage their workload efficiently.
