Open Source Software Advocate

We are seeking an accomplished technical professional to join our Developer Relations team, who possesses a genuine passion for open source software and the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute meaningfully to team product meetings, strategy discussions, and daily development progress by providing expert technical insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain active conversations with members of the developer community across various platforms, including social media, forums, meetups, and conferences.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from other teams to establish consistency in approaches and best practices.
  • Resolve complex technical problems identified by users or colleagues through diligent analysis and effective communication of solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to ensure that developer users' needs are accurately met.
  • Produce engaging technical articles, presentations, and workshops that showcase expertise and foster knowledge sharing.
  • Identify new opportunities and directions for improving the developer experience provided by the company.
Requirements:
  • You are a skilled programmer or developer with a proven track record of engagement in open-source software and a deep understanding of its principles and applications.
  • Experience working with real-world challenges in developing and deploying software using Linux, as well as practical hands-on experience with Linux software packaging (including Snaps, debs, charms, rocks, PIP, containers).
  • Understanding of current software packaging issues and trends in the Linux ecosystem, including contributing to open-source communities, software, and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and community members, as well as excellent communication skills for presenting at conferences, meetups, or technical events.
