About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading day-to-day EHS compliance activities, including inspections, audits, and training programs. You will work closely with the EHS Manager to develop and implement effective EHS strategies, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company standards.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Monitoring site EHS performance and reporting at local and divisional levels
  • Assisting in achieving Continual Process Improvement on Site
  • Managing site EHS documentation and recording systems
  • Auditing departments and contractors
  • Undertaking, leading, and coordinating Risk Assessment Programs
  • Supervising and coordinating site EHS Training
  • Ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance
  • Providing assistance to various committee teams
  • Supporting Occupational Health Programs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental, Risk Management, Occupational Hygiene, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (Engineering, Science, etc.) supplemented with Cert IV or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical/GmP Industry, preferably in EHS
  • Knowledge of EHS legislation
  • Experience in taking care of Local and Regulatory Authorities
  • Excellent presentation and motivational skills
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication
