EHS Compliance Specialist

As a key member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
The EHS Specialist will work closely with the EHS Manager to lead day-to-day aspects of EHS compliance, including inspections, audits, and procedures. This will involve collaborating with internal customers and departments to improve EHS performance indicators and providing technical mentorship and leadership to internal and external clients on EHS matters.
A Day in the Life:
- Provide advice and guidance on Health, Safety, and Environmental Issues
- Monitor site EHS performance and report at local and divisional levels
- Assist in achieving Continual Process Improvement on Site
- Manage site EHS documentation and recording systems
- Audit Departments/Contractors
- Undertake, lead, and coordinate Risk Assessment Programs and provide mentorship to the larger team
- Supervise and/or coordinate site EHS Training
- Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance
- Provide assistance to various committee teams
- Support Occupational Health Programs
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental, Risk Management, Occupational Hygiene, or other relevant qualification
- Bachelor degree in a relevant technical field (Engineering, Science, etc.) supplemented with Cert IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- Previous experience in Pharmaceutical/GmP Industry Environmental, Health, and Safety experience preferred
- Knowledge of EHS legislation
- Experience in taking care of Local and Regulatory Authorities
- Excellent presentation and motivational skills
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication
