Project Lawyer Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading organization in the energy sector in Australia. As a Project Lawyer, you will play a key role in delivering the company's most critical infrastructure energy projects.

The project involves working on the delivery of renewable energy projects, which are crucial for the national electricity system transition to a renewables-based system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and review contracts related to transmission infrastructure projects and connections to the grid.
  • Provide legal assistance on contract administration during the project delivery phase.
  • Offer transactional support across various deals valued at $50-$100 million per year.
  • Advise on changes in the legal and regulatory environment, particularly concerning the National Electricity Laws and Rules.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Be admitted to practice in Australia or New Zealand.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience, preferably in private practice or inhouse.
  • Prior experience providing regulatory advice would be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial drafting, reviewing, and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
