A renewable energy business is seeking a Legal Counsel to advise on transactions and projects.

This role will see you advising on and negotiating commercial matters, including EPC contracts, supply and install contracts, balance of plant contracts, PPAs/offtake agreements, connection agreements, and O&M agreements.

You will also be involved in land acquisitions and planning approvals, as well as general commercial contracts and matters.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years PQE and demonstrated experience providing advice on energy or infrastructure projects in Australia.

They should also have experience in large or specialised law firms and/or experience in-house at an energy or infrastructure company.

Demonstrated ability advising on regulatory matters, including FIRB, Australian Financial Services Licences, Critical Infrastructure, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Finance is essential.

The successful candidate will be able to prioritise and progress legal matters, escalate issues where needed, and ensure all decision makers are identified and briefed as appropriate.

They will also be responsible for managing external legal advisers, including allocating resources and skills between internal and external counsel.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Fully qualified lawyer with 4+ years PQE
  • Demonstrated experience providing advice on energy or infrastructure projects in Australia
  • Experience in large or specialised law firm and/or experience in-house at an energy or infrastructure company
  • Demonstrated ability advising on regulatory matters
