Occupational Therapist Opportunity

IPAR is a national provider of occupational rehabilitation, supporting thousands of individuals with illnesses, disabilities, or injuries.

Our services include workplace rehabilitation, counseling, injury prevention, and employment support. Our goal is to help individuals live life to its fullest potential by providing tailored care and psychological or physical supports.

Our team consists of highly skilled allied health professionals and employment consultants, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists, and Rehabilitation Counsellors.

We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our team in Wollongong, NSW.

The ideal candidate will have a professional background in occupational therapy and be interested in working in the occupational rehabilitation sector.

Job Description

This role involves working with injured workers, employers, and medical professionals to develop and implement return-to-work strategies. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to engage with clients and stakeholders, and possess compassion, kindness, and empathy.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct initial, workplace, and vocational assessments to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers to employment, and identify suitable employment opportunities for workers who have sustained workplace injuries or injuries from motor vehicle accidents.
  2. Develop and implement return-to-work strategies in collaboration with employers, employees, and medical professionals.
  3. Provide case management and support to injured workers, ensuring they receive the necessary care and resources to achieve their goals.
  4. Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support to injured workers.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy registered with AHPRA
  • Previous experience working in occupational rehabilitation would be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassion, kindness, and empathy
