Clinical Science Associate – Rare Diseases

This is a permanent full-time field-based position, offering a supportive and collaborative culture with career growth opportunities.

About the Role:

The Clinical Science Associate (CSA) will drive the commercial success of the Rare Disease Portfolio within NSW North and SA. This role involves identifying, educating and building advocates within the healthcare community to reduce the time to diagnosis of patients suffering from Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSDs), specifically Fabry and Pompe Disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement sales strategy and promotional activities to meet and exceed sales targets.
  2. Engage decision makers, specialists and allied health staff (nurses, pharmacists and pathologists) to drive disease awareness, testing and management of patients with particular focus on Dry Blood Spot testing.
  3. Deliver effective presentations for hospital units and accounts.
  4. Maintain activity in line with agreed Business Plan including face-to-face calls, trade displays, conferences, educational events, etc.
  5. Develop new business and maintain existing accounts through regular contact with target customers in line with sales strategy.
  6. Stay current with relevant medical community issues and have a thorough understanding of global literature and clinical trials.
  7. Facilitate highly clinical physician interactions, recalling and discussing specific clinical data from studies.
  8. Continually monitor and analyse opportunities for existing and potential business, recommending approaches to maximise sales.
  9. Understand and optimise complex relationships and protocols impacting the hospital environment.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A demonstrable track record as a Specialist Representative or Hospital Sales Representative.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Pharmacy, Science, Nursing, Business, Marketing or Education.
  • Completion of Medicines Australia CEP.
  • A Full Driver License.
