Responsibilities:
  • Utilize extensive experience in upholstery to produce high-end commercial furniture
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of tools, fabric, foam, and frames used in upholstery
  • Collaborate with patterns used in furniture manufacturing, interpreting and working effectively with them
  • Develop templates for marking and cutting fabric
  • Calculate precise measurements and prepare materials required for furniture upholstery
  • Assemble frames and materials used in furniture upholstery
  • Perform expert stapling, gluing, and nailing fabric onto framing
  • Operate advanced industrial sewing and overlocking machines
  • Fabricate custom-shaped fabric covers to fit commercial furniture frames
  • Implement zips, darts, tucks, and piping on heavy fabric
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Australian Standards Certificate III in Upholstery, Production Upholstery, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience

Experience in commercial furniture manufacturing is crucial. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills and comprehensive knowledge of tools, fabric, foam, and frames used in upholstery.
