Combat System Engineer Role

The Combat Systems Engineer will be part of the DDG Systems Engineering, Integration and Test team.

About The Job

This role involves contributing to the development of requirements for the Guided-missile Destroyer (DDG) baseline.

You will also contribute to architecture development and design coordination activities, as well as the development of the DDG CS Verification program.

  • Contribute to and execute Combat System Systems Engineering activities supporting requirements analysis, architecture definition, and development of subsystems and associated components.
  • Develop, maintain, and update system functional and non-functional requirements and design artefacts.
  • Prepare for and support the execution of major program milestones such as design reviews, test readiness, and system readiness reviews.
  • Develop, prosecute, and support the implementation of approved Engineering Changes.
  • Interact with specialty engineering disciplines, including Safety, Human Factors, Cyber, Topside, and ILS, for the purposes of achieving design assurance and holistic system compliance.
About You

Past experience in integration, test, and evaluation of CS products into naval platforms or equivalent complex military systems is required.

Substantial experience with combat system requirements within a maritime context is necessary.

Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, methods, tools, and techniques is also required.

You should have experience working in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment, preferably within the defence industry.

Additionally, experience working with internal stakeholders and external partnering organisations to achieve common goals is essential.
