Lead Civil Engineer

About the Role

You will lead and oversee engineering design, prepare technical specifications, and streamline deliverables for a wide range of civil infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in civil engineering, manage engineering design teams, and collaborate across offices.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Lead civil engineering design, calculations, and technical reports/specifications.
  2. Work within multidisciplinary teams to manage and deliver engineering projects to specified and relevant standards.
  3. Manage engineering design teams to deliver project design outcomes and scope.
  4. Liaise directly with Project Managers, Design Managers, and Clients to provide regular project updates and proposals.
  5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal and external.
  6. Collaborate with local and interstate colleagues to deliver engineering projects.
  7. Review designs and documentation prepared by others to ensure compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
  8. Provide direction, mentoring, and support to the project team and Civil Discipline Group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • CPEng preferred.
  • Extensive experience working within an engineering consulting environment.
  • Experience working in a broad range of infrastructure projects within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Previous experience in Civil Infrastructure for defence, building civil, and transport sectors is essential.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and design guidelines to the civil engineering discipline.
  • The ability to obtain chartership within a reasonable agreed time frame.
  • Practical knowledge and commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance.
