Family Violence Practitioner role is available in our Mackay office. We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our team and make a real impact in the lives of women and children seeking safety and support.

About the role:

This full-time position involves providing place-based case management support across both refuge and outreach services, assisting adult and child victim-survivors who are currently experiencing or have previously experienced family violence.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, safe, and effective support services that prioritise safety, recovery, and empowerment—guided by a feminist framework.

  • Provide trauma-informed, client-centred case management in line with standards and models of care
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients that encourage empowerment, safety, and participation
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of client needs, risks, and goals from intake to exit
  • Develop and implement individualised case plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring their active participation
  • Facilitate access to appropriate support services, community resources, and advocate on behalf of clients where needed
  • Maintain accurate, confidential client records in accordance with procedures using internal systems
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare (Social Sciences), Community Development or related field (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in case management within the family violence or related sectors
  • Experience working with women and children affected by family violence is highly desirable
