Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Japanese Chef with extensive experience in authentic Japanese cooking techniques to lead our kitchen team at a reputable restaurant.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, tempura, donburi, and other specialty items.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain consistency and quality of food presentation in line with our high culinary standards.
  • Estimate food requirements and order supplies efficiently.
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene and compliance with all relevant food safety regulations.
  • Train junior kitchen staff in advanced Japanese cooking techniques.
  • Collaborate with management to introduce seasonal and innovative menu items that exceed customer expectations.
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profitability.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years full-time experience as a senior Japanese Chef.
  • Strong knowledge of authentic Japanese ingredients, cooking techniques, and presentation styles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
